Kenny Loggins is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist born in Everett, Washington. He became known through Loggins and Messina, his partnership with Jim Messina, which recorded seven albums from 1972 to 1977. His early songs were also recorded by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. As a solo artist, Loggins became associated with movie soundtracks, including the Academy Award-nominated song "Footloose." He has won two Grammy Awards and a Daytime Emmy Award.
